Best Weighing Practices for Battery Material Characterization
Characterization of cathode and anode material during battery development includes specific surface area, density, and pore size distribution calculations. To determine these parameters, you need precise weight measurement, which is hard to do when electrostatic effects and other common environmental factors are present. In this on-demand webinar, we will talk about the factors that affect your weighing results and explain how you can get more accurate pore size, pore volume and porosity measurements. This is a joint webinar between Sartorius & Anton Paar.

Lead Scientist | Anton Paar
Dr. Thomas, Anton Paar QuantaTec’s Lead Scientist, has more than forty years’ of experience in the characterization of powders and porous materials. He obtained his PhD from the University of Birmingham (UK) for studies relating to the nickel hydroxide electrode.
After a period working in ceramics and catalyst characterization he joined Quantachrome Instruments (Anton Paar QuantaTec since 2018) in 1991.
He is named on 10 patents relating to porous materials and their characterization, and is co-author of “Characterization of Porous Solids and Powders: Surface Area, Pore Size and Density” published by Springer.
