Purification by Syringe: Simplifying Chromatography
Last updated: February 2023
This protocol describes how to operate Sartobind® Lab units manually, with a syringe. Unlike resin-based columns, the macroporous structure of Sartobind® membrane adsorbers enables rapid transport of macromolecules to the functionalized surface by convective flow. This supports reliable, equipment-free purifications by syringe at much faster flow rates and shorter residence times, without exceeding pressure limits or compromising target molecule yields.
