Purifying Plasmid DNA with Vivapure® IEX
This protocol describes a simple method to isolate and purify plasmid DNA in recombinant cloning workflows. Plasmids are first released from E. coli using a traditional alkaline lysis process. The lysate is then applied to Vivapure® IEX spin columns, where the plasmids are rapidly captured on the innovative Sartobind® Lab membrane adsorber matrix. Subsequent washing and elution steps ensure sufficient purity for downstream use, including transformation or transfection into prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells, respectively, for protein expression, or in restriction enzyme digests.
