Laboratory Water Preparation - Optimized
In Partnership with LCGC
Executive Summary
Water is used for almost all applications on the laboratory. Impurities are found in all tap water and can have a negative effect on scientific analyses.
This article explores the source of water impurities and how to optimize water purity to the standard needed for specific applications. It will demonstrate how to save resources by providing a theoretical and practical understanding of how to work most efficiently with a lab water system.
Keep in mind: Water is used heavily for rinsing and dilution of samples to be tested. Furthermore, it is used for the preparation of certified reference materials within the calibration and testing of the instrumentation (GS-MS, HPLC) to evaluate the samples for contamination in the Cannabis testing process.
